Thought it was time for an update.
I recently got a new studio space through Visual Arts Nova Scotia at New Dawn Centre in Sydney and thought I would share some pictures of the space and the work I’ve been doing there.
It’s a great little space, really bright and quiet. There is also no internet at the moment in the studios which means I am much much much more productive then I would be anywhere else. It’s nice to have a space outside of my house to work, a space that I can leave a huge mess and isn’t in the middle of my living room.
One of the first things I worked on was a woodcut version of the only drawing I managed to do for Inktober. I have a couple of these original woodcut prints available now in my shop and am also thinking of making some larger digital prints of this image in the future.
What size would you like to see? Maybe poster sized? That would be fun.
The studio has great light and these huge amazing windows, which is a great space to display my newest experiment: some pojagi quilting. I’m in the beginning stages of a project for a show early next year that I hope to use this technique in. I’ve been in love with this look for sometime now and meaning to try it out. It’s so simple and beautiful. I’m going to make this sample into a small window covering but I see a lot more of this in the future. Maybe some custom work?
That’s all for now! Happy Tuesday everyone.
